We were guided early on by a “Land Ethic” described by Aldo Leopold. This has evolved into major National programs that encourage everyone to “Leave No Trace” by the Center for Outdoor Ethics, and “Tread Lightly”, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting responsible motorized recreation through education.  Millions of people have enhanced their awareness of the natural world around them and minimized their impact on the land. If you have a deep interest in the outdoors, nature, and the environment, our Outdoor Ethics Awareness seminar will give you an ever-deeper appreciation of the richness of the land and how we fit into it. If you are prepared to venture down the path of really becoming aware of your surroundings, of building the skills that will allow you to leave no trace on the land, then please join us.

Father Nayture started to focus on the importance of Outdoor Ethics education, when in 2008 he became a Master Educator for Leave No Trace, and in 2010 he became a Master Trainer for Tread Lightly. In 2014 Father Nayture completed the UC curriculum to become a California Naturalist.   He has conducted numerous Outdoor Ethics training classes and seminars.  In 2016 National Scouts BSA recognized him with their  “Outdoor Ethics Distinguished Service.” Award.

Father Nayture has been volunteering with the Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods since 2012 and contributes to the Redwood Interpretive hikes, Tide Pool and Watershed Education. When asked what he thought was most important within the California State Parks he said,  “We need to ensure that all our volunteers and staff are practicing the principles outlined in these programs and to include them in all of our presentations.  By setting the example and making the principles visible to the public we will be able to help educate everyone to respect and take care of the planet, which is what it means to be a “Steward”.”

We invite anyone else to attend this seminar at a cost of $20 for non-members of Stewards or $16 for members.
