Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods (Stewards) and California State Parks invite members of the Russian River Community to an Earth Day Restoration and Cleanup Day at Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve on Saturday, April 24th to help us with final preparations to reopen Armstrong Redwoods sometime in May after being closed due to the Walbridge Fire.
Join us for an opportunity to see fire damage first hand and help us with cleanup efforts.
The day will begin at 9:00am in the front parking lot at the park entrance where volunteers will be checked in, sign waivers and be sent to different locations in the park to work on restoration and cleanup projects. Projects will include fence building, trail and sign cleanup and habitat restoration.
Stewards will provide drinks and snacks. Volunteers must wear a mask and should bring a water bottle and a lunch that they are welcome to eat during a socially distanced mealtime at 12 noon in the picnic area. Also, be sure to wear sturdy shoes, dress in layers and bring a hard hat and gloves if you have them, otherwise they will be provided.
This event will be limited to the first 50 volunteers who sign up.
This project was made possible by a grant award from Hydro Flask’s Parks For All program.
