Armstrong Redwoods Visitor CenterThe Visitor Center at Armstrong Redwoods SNR and Austin Creek SRA is situated in the parking lot at the front entrance to Armstrong Redwoods. It is a wonderful introduction to the park with cultural history interpretive displays and a lovely diorama with some of the flora and fauna that live in the park. The center also includes a wonderful Nature Store.

State Parks Volunteer Docents staff the center year-round, seven days a week from 11am-3pm. They provide visitors with park information and sell educational merchandise. The proceeds from Nature Store sales benefit the work that Stewards does to: support the park; provide volunteer and docent activities; offer free school group programs (we serve over 5,000 students annually) and docent-led tours for special adult groups.

Armstrong Redwoods Visitor CenterThe new interpretive display funded by Stewards through the generosity of Betty Riess was created by Faith Rumm from Rumm Studios. The display depicts the life of a redwood in relation to historic events on one side and the flora and fauna found in a redwood forest on the other. It is located at the north end of the Visitor Center parking lot.

Groups of 10 or more can book private naturalist or docent-led hikes in Armstrong Redwoods SNR (reservations at least 2 weeks in advance are recommended). To do so, simply register online by filling out our Online Reservation Form for Groups. Fees vary and they help us continue to provide free docent-led environmental education programs for school groups through our School Group Education Programs.
